Prenatal Yoga
Prenatal Yoga is designed to help expectant mothers connect with their body, baby and other mothers-to-be. It is a safe flow of sequences that follow the phases of birth. These sequences will teach breath awareness, deep relaxation, and meditation while strengthening muscles that will support baby during pregnancy and birth. We will work together to alleviate pregnancy related discomforts. Prenatal Yoga will offer women the opportunity to develop friendships and share the highs and lows of pregnancy. Important topics regarding pregnancy and labor will be discussed in a non-judgmental and caring atmosphere.
Mom & Baby Yoga
This class is a wonderful way for new parents to build or rediscover strength, energy, flexibility, and balance of the body and mind through a series of gentle poses, while bonding with their babies and other parents. For baby, we focus on specific areas such as neck and shoulders, abdomen, lower back, and pelvis. We also teach massage techniques to assist with babies who are colic, gassy, or just need to feel your touch. Parents will enjoy poses with baby and on their own. Mom & Baby Yoga is appropriate for babies 6 weeks to crawling.
Parent & Toddler Yoga
Parent & Toddler Yoga is a natural continuation from Mom & Baby Yoga. In these classes, the emphasis is on your child and their development. Once wobbly walking is established, your infant will need a more engaging and stimulating group. Our Parent & Toddler yoga classes are very playful and fun – learning new yoga stretches from downward dogs to handstands as well as a focus on fitness and developmental activities.
Classes are designed as a joined practice exploring the world of yoga movement through your child’s eyes – combining songs, games and props. The practice encourages children to maintain their curiosity in movement and the world around them, as well as develops self-awareness and self-confidence through yoga.
The Parents & Toddler classes are suitable for children aged 12- 24 months and we welcome moms, dads or any other caregivers. The class is 30 minutes, the length of time a child of this age can remain engaged in an activity such as yoga. Have your child wear comfortable clothes that they can move freely in and have fun!
