General Questions
I am glad you asked! We offer a wide variety of class formats, which is one of the unique characteristics of our studio. From introductory classes, to invigorating flow classes, to calming restorative classes, to specialty classes such as Prenatal Yoga and Yoga for Healthy Bones, we have something for every level of experience and ability. View our current class descriptions for more information.
We recommend bringing a water bottle, a small towel, and an open mind. If you have your own yoga mat, feel free to bring it along—but don’t worry if you don’t own one, we have mats available at the studio. We also have Jade yoga mats available for purchase at the studio.
If you do you have a yoga mat, we recommend that you bring it with you. We do have mats available for use, but many people prefer to bring their own for comfort and hygiene. Your mat is your sacred space!
Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely, like leggings, shorts, or a t-shirt. Breathable, stretchy fabrics work best. Shoes aren’t needed—yoga is practiced barefoot for stability and to foster a connection to the earth.
Arriving 10–15 minutes before the class starts gives you time to sign in, get settled, and relax before class begins.
We recommend booking online in advance to secure your spot, especially for popular classes. This will also ensure that you are notified in the event of a class cancellation. You are always welcome to drop in if space allows.
We are located on the corner of Midway Road and Oneida Street, just over the border of southeast Appleton into Menasha. We have lots of free parking available right in front of our building!
For Beginners
Absolutely! Many of our students are beginners. Because of the wide variety of classes on the schedule, there is a class for everyone! Our instructors will guide you through each step at a comfortable pace and provide modifications when needed. Our intent is to give you the best first experience with the practice!
Yes, we offer classes specifically designed for beginners, focusing on basic poses and breathing techniques. These classes are guided at a slower pace and allow an environment for exploration.
Of course! Our instructors are here to support you. They’ll provide modifications and adjustments to help you practice safely. We pride ourselves on the quality of instructors that teach at Yoga Elements and encourage you to ask questions!
Yes! Flexibility is not a requirement; and it’s only one of the things you will develop in your body with a consistent practice. Yoga is about meeting yourself where you are and respecting how our bodies are responding to each pose. Some poses will feel great and some may be more challenging; just like any new activity we pursue.
Studio Etiquette & Policies
Yes, yoga is practiced barefoot. This provides the best traction and stability on the mat and cultivates an awareness of our connection with the earth. Please remove shoes in the designated area to keep our studio space clean.
We ask that phones be silenced and put away to create a peaceful, distraction-free environment. Many students appreciate this time in the studio as a respite from the busy-ness and chaos of the day.
If you are a few minutes late to class, please enter the studio quietly and set up your mat to avoid disrupting the class. However, for everyone’s safety and focus, we may not allow late entry once class begins for certain classes or special events.
We understand that things come up and schedules change! Please make sure to cancel your enrollment prior to the class to avoid any potential fee. (Special events, workshops, and private sessions are subject to a cancellation fee.)
We don’t have showers, but we do have a bathroom in the studio if you need to change before class.
Health & Safety
Many classes can be adapted, but we recommend checking with your doctor first to obtain clearance to practice. Please inform your instructor before class so they can suggest modifications and ensure you have a safe and supportive experience.
We provide mat cleaner and towels to wipe down your mat after class, and we regularly wash our blankets, bolster covers and eye pillow covers. During COVID, we installed an iWave air purifying device in our air conditioning system. This ionization system reduces pathogens, allergens, and particles in the air. We also have hand sanitizer available in the studio.
Memberships & Pricing
We have flexible options including single drop-in classes, multi-class packs, and unlimited memberships. Please see our Pricing page for current prices.
We do! If you are new to the studio, your first class is free. This offers you an opportunity to try a class and see if the studio is a good fit for you and your goals. We also have discounts for children, students and military.
We accept credit/debit cards, checks and cash.
Special Considerations
No, we do not offer hot yoga. The studio temperature is kept between 75-78 degrees. We hope to maintain a comfortable temperature so your body feels ready to move, but not “hot.”
At the current time, we have both a prenatal and a postnatal/baby yoga class on the schedule instructed by Jennifer Tews. We don’t have kids’ yoga on the schedule, but Jennifer occasionally does offer a Toddler Yoga Workshop. Please see our schedule or contact us for details.
Yes! Private sessions are a great way to deepen your practice or address specific needs. If you are recovering from an injury or dealing a specific physical challenge, a private session can allow extra time to discuss options and practice different variations of poses specific to your goals. A private group session can be a perfect way to share a personalized practice with friends or celebrate a special event. Please reach out to us via email or call to schedule.
We regularly host special events and workshops instructed by a variety of instructors. Some of the workshops we have offered in the past are Gong and Sound Healing Journeys, Yoga for Osteoporosis, Introduction to Crystal Energy and Qigong. At this time, we do not offer a teacher training program.
Yes, we welcome kids to the studio and encourage an early introduction to the practice. Please ensure that your child is ready to participate and stay engaged for the duration of class.
